The following are some of the areas in which you can help out.
- Daily upkeep and expenses. Our major challenge is the lack of money for daily upkeep, food and personal effects, electricity and water bills, paying workers and some medicine which are not available at Kerugoya District Hospital where we take the old ladies for treatment.
- Land development. St Mary’s Village has land that could be developed with a good water system and irrigation facilities. This will allow us the alleviate some of the expenses on food.
- Renovation of the household. The toilets and bathrooms are in a dilapidated state and many of the rooms are due for renovation, as the facilities have never been renovated since contruction in 1974.
- Extension of dining hall. The dining room was designed for 14 women when it was constructed in 1974, and does not cater for the current number of woment residing in the village.
- Fencing the homestead. This is needed to protect some of mentally handicapped women from wandering off, protecting the women's privacy and also to protect against theft.
- Chairs, seats, wheelchairs. The ladies of St Mary’s Village are in need of chairs and seats, especially wheel chairs and commodes depending on the condition of each.
